Hannah More

He liked those literary cooks
Who skim the cream of others' books;
And ruin half an author's graces
By plucking bon-mots from their places.

(Hannah More was an English poet, playwright, religious writer, and philanthropist.  She died in 1833, so this verse was not written with the creator of 2 or 3 lines a day in mind.  But if the shoe fits . . .)
